Sam Dickenson – Yoga Teacher

ABOUT ME

I’m Sam; mum, home educator, Montessori preschool teacher and a yoga lover!

I’m a passionate believer in the mind, body, spirit connection and yoga embodies those three elements and brings them together in one beautiful package. It’s a way to connect with our bodies and the potential it holds whilst honouring our current limits and nurturing physical or emotional wounds.

An early introduction to yoga can support and enable our children to grow in trust and love for their bodies. Children’s mental health today is in crisis and we need to find ways to educate children early on about how to care for and love themselves in a positive and non competitive way. Children are natural yogis; they jump, spin, bend and balance given the opportunity to do so. I believe that using yoga to support and develop those motor skills can set lifelong patterns in place so that as they grow, children will continue to explore and discover their strength and potential, whilst also supporting their mental health.

My classes are a mix of yoga asana, interspersed with songs, games, chanting, breathing exercises and of course, relaxation. Everything is offered as an invitation for your child to join in with and above all, I aim to provide a safe environment for your child to explore yoga in a fun way!

Please get in touch if you are interested in any of my classes or would like to know more about sessions I can offer.

Mission statement

Yoga is for all, a journey we may share, irrespective of age, race, sex or ability,
Our bodies, mind and spirit united by our joyful practise.
Grounding us in the here and now, not what was or may come to be,
Acceptance of ourselves, embracing all that we are in this very moment.

Freeing the mind from past and future, yoga allows us time to go within, to rediscover who we are,
Om shanti, shanti, shanti,
Release peace into your mind, body and speech and on into the world around you.

Able to connect with the world around us, rooted yet free,
Live fully, humbly and present in this moment,
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu.

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
