Dragonfly Yoga and Wellbeing

About me

I’m Sam; mum, home educator, Montessori preschool teacher and a yoga lover! I live with my husband and children in south Cornwall and when not sharing yoga, I enjoy walking our beautiful coastline with my dogs, a bit of cold water dipping, the occasional run and time spent with my family exploring in our camper van, touring Scotland in particular!

I’ve been offering toddler yoga sessions since 2023 having worked within the pre-school/nursery environment for many years. It seemed the natural progression to offer classes to parents/carers and toddlers to enjoy yoga together.

Having found many benefits in the physical asana practice of yoga myself for many years, I decided to embark on a 200 hour yoga immersion teacher training run by Yoga Like Water. As I kept telling everyone repeatedly, this was not because I wanted to teach yoga to adults, it was simply an experiential training for me to explore and deepen my own yoga practice.

Now in late 2024, I find myself having spent nearly a year teaching yoga to adults, completing a yin yoga teacher training course AND be absolutely loving the addition of teaching adult yoga sessions to my life!

If you’re interested in any of my regular sessions or would like more information about how I can support you in your yoga journey, please get in touch. All regular sessions are available to book and pay online via my bookwhen site or you can find my contact details below or use Facebook or Instagram messaging.

Children’s yoga

I offer regular parent/carer and toddler yoga sessions at several venues in south Cornwall, aimed at children aged 1-5 years. These sessions are a mix of simple yoga poses, games and songs for you and your toddler to enjoy together. The aim of these sessions is to promote body awareness through movement, balance and sound and for adults and children to engage in an activity together that brings them joy and connection. We always end with a ‘snuggle time’ in our cosy blankets and many parents report finding this a useful way to promote the value of quiet time at home with their children.

I am available to teach yoga workshops for children aged 5-16 years upon request.

Family yoga

Family yoga is offered as a bespoke workshop for your group or can be arranged as either a one off or series of single family sessions as a way of promoting movement, mindfulness and the connection of being together as a family. These sessions can also include a mindfulness craft activity if desired.

I also provide pop up family yoga sessions for hotel guests during the school holidays so please get in touch if this is something your hotel would like to offer.

Adult yoga

I teach regular post run yoga sessions for members of St Austell running club and have recently delivered 4 week Introduction to Yoga courses for those new or returning to yoga. On a Monday morning, I hold a yin yoga session at The Rising Sun pub in Portmellon and on the last Friday of each month, an evening mini retreat of yin and restorative yoga, for those who’d love a Friday evening slow down.

Be Gentle with your Grief Retreat Day

On Saturday 28th June, I will be holding a grief retreat day at The Sanctuary in Golant. The day will include gentle yoga-based movement, a sound bath and all refreshments. This is an opportunity for those experiencing grief and loss to nourish the often overworked nervous system and find some space to simply ‘be’. Early bird price for the day is £75 (until 10th May). Booking via my bookwhen site (link below) but please get in touch with any questions.

Shine A Light.

In 2025, I will be facilitating monthly meet ups for bereaved parents. Each month, we will meet at a different location for a walk, coffee, lunch or just a chat. These meet ups will be open to any parent who has lost a child, whatever their age and however long ago they experienced this loss. My hope is that this will provide a supportive space for those of us who have lost a child to share our stories, support each other and bring some compassion to ourselves in these stormiest of seas. If this resonates with you, please email me for information about our next meet-up.

Please note, I am not a trained counsellor. Simply, as a bereaved parent myself, I am organising this as a voluntary undertaking and isn’t intended as a replacement to therapy or counselling.

All regular sessions can be viewed, booked and paid for online at;

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“We absolutely love our toddler yoga class with Sam. My three year old son gets really involved and even asks to do yoga at home now! I love that this is a calm but active thing we can do together that promotes movement and gross and fine motor skills. Sam’s classes are full of creative songs, games and activities that are really engaging without being overstimulating. Highly recommend!”

DA – Lostwithiel toddler class

“Sam is excellent as a tutor, the information and structure of her lesson is great, she explains things clearly and has alternatives to poses that people may not be able to do or find difficult, her lessons are calm, informative and relaxed and I thoroughly enjoy them and feel the benefits of the class and will continue to do them, I would definitely recommend going to her classes”
